Violence mars NPP Primaries at Abomosu

Abomosu (E/R), Aug. 23, GNA- The Atiwa Constituency Primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at Abomosu in the Eastern Region, on Sunday, was marred by violence when supporters of the two parliamentary candidates clashed.

Calm was, however, restored and Nana Adi Ankama, Regional Chairman of the Party gave the go ahead for the elections.

Dr Charles Obrempong-Yeboah defeated his main challenger, Mr Kwesi Amoako-Attah by 74 votes to four.

Mr Amoako-Attah disputed the results and said he would use the laid down procedure to seek justice.

“I will spend my last pesewa to fight this issue,” he said.
