Sarkodie hasn’t honored his promise to feature me – Awal Mohammed

Emerging rapper Awal Mohammed says persistent rumours of a feud between himself and Sarkodie are harming his progress in the music industry, even though he insists no bad blood exists.

Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM on Monday, July 14, Awal addressed long-standing speculations that he has issues with the award-winning rapper, stemming from a promised feature that never happened.

“I confronted one of my Godfathers, Mr. Simon Ohene – he’s cool with Sarkodie – and we sat to talk, where Sarkodie promised to put me on some tunes. But till now, there’s nothing,” Awal disclosed.

Despite the silence, Awal was quick to clear the air. “Most people think I have a problem with Sarkodie, and that also affects me. I have no issues with Sarkodie,” he emphasised.

The rapper, who gained nationwide attention through talent competitions and was previously mentored by Sarkodie, noted that navigating industry relationships has become increasingly difficult as he matures in the music space.

He cited another instance involving rapper Kofi Mole, revealing that he reached out to him for a collaboration but got no reply.

“I chased Kofi Mole with some songs, but I didn’t get any response from him,” Awal said, expressing disappointment over what he sees as a pattern of unreciprocated efforts.

While the missed opportunities sting, Awal remains undeterred. His message to fans and industry players was clear and heartfelt: “All I want is the support I need to keep going.”

With his clarity on the Sarkodie situation and a renewed call for collaboration, Awal is charting a course that prioritises persistence, transparency, and growth in a competitive music landscape.
