Traditional Councils to get 10 million cedis each for AIDS campaign

Awutu-Ofaankor (C/R), Aug. 18 GNA- Traditional Councils in the Central Region are to receive 10 million cedis each for propagation of HIV/AQIDS prevention campaign.

Mr Thomas Ewul, registrar of Gomoa-Assin Traditional Council said this at an emergency meeting of the Awutu Traditional Council at Awutu-Ofaankor, near Kasoa on Tuesday.

The meeting was called by the Omanhene of the Awutu Traditional Council, Abokuali Whettey Otabil 1, to discuss arrangements for this year’s “Awubia” festival of the chiefs and people of the Awutu Traditional Area.

The festival commences this month and rounds off on the first Monday of next month.

The chief advised media houses to be cautious in their reportage and must not drag the Council into politics.
