The Ghana Health Service(GHS) has confirmed six new cases of Mpox, bringing the total number to 85.
GHS announced this on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, in a public health update on Facebook.
This follows a recent surge in infections, with 34 new cases reported earlier in the week across 10 regions.
Urging the public to practice all the safety protocols, GHS noted that anybody who experience fever, rash, headache, muscle pain, swollen lymph nodes should to report to the nearest health facility without delay.
Health officials say contact tracing is underway and surveillance has been increased in affected areas. Patients with active symptoms are being monitored closely to prevent further spread.
The Service has reminded the public to avoid direct contact with anyone showing signs of illness and to observe hygiene measures, particularly handwashing, as a preventive step.
