Driver granted four million cedis bail for traffic offence

Cape Coast Aug. 17 GNA- Ekow Essoun, 24-year-old driver was on Tuesday granted four million cedis bail by a circuit court at Cape Coast for careless driving and using his private licence to drive a commercial vehicle.

Essoun, who pleaded not guilty and would reappear on Tuesday August 31.

Police Inspector Ohene Boateng told the court that on July 7 this year, at about 2000 hours Essoun was driving a Hyundai taxi from ‘third ridge’, a residential area in Cape Coast, towards the Cape Coast-Takoradi main road.

Inspector Boateng said on reaching a junction, Essoun failed to observe traffic and in the process, ran into another vehicle on the main road.

He said Essoun who sustained injuries, was rushed to the hospital. Police investigation showed that he was using his private licence to drive a commercial vehicle.
