District Assembly to help address problems affecting service personnel

Winneba (C/R), Aug.16, GNA- The District Chief Executive for the Awutu-Effutu-Senya District, Captain Steve Kwamena Armah has assured National Service Personnel that the District Assembly would address most of their problems facing them.

He said the government recognizes and supports the various initiatives by the National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) to complement the development efforts in the country. Captain Armah who said this at an end-of-year party organized by the assembly for service personnel in the district on Sunday, urged them not to consider their posting to the rural areas as a punishment. “We do acknowledge the sacrifices and wonderful performance put up by service personnel in the rural communities since the inception of the scheme”, he declared.

Captain Armah urged the service personnel to regard their service as an opportunity for them to adequately prepare for their future. He warned them against indiscriminate sex to avoid HIV/AIDS.
