Ivor Adams elected PNC parliamentary candidate for T’di

Takoradi, Aug. 16, GNA – Mr Ivor Adams, a retired employee of the Ghana Railway Company (GRC), was last Friday elected by acclamation as the People’s National Convention (PNC) Parliamentary Candidate for Takoradi Constituency at the Party’s primaries in Takoradi.

All the 44 delegates endorsed Mr Adams’ nomination in an election conducted by officials of the Electoral Commission (EC).

Mr Adams in his acceptance speech thanked the delegates and members of the Party for the confidence reposed in him and pledged not to let them down when elected.

He urged the members to intensify their campaign for the Party to win the seat.

Mr Ransford Emmanuel Nii-Noi, National Organiser of the PNC, said there were more problems affecting the country that needed to be addressed instead of pursuing “politics of insult and personal attacks”. He said problems like the country’s ailing economy, provision of more accommodation for workers, lack of educational facilities at secondary and tertiary institutions and training of more professionals for health institutions, must be well addressed before the country could move forward.

Mr Nii-Noi said: “Ghanaians have tried the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and it was time they also try the PNC for real economic freedom and national development.” He advised Party members to intensify their campaign in a peaceful atmosphere to ensure victory.
