The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) have announced an extension of operational hours at Prempeh I International Airport in Kumasi and Tamale International Airport, effective June 1, 2025.

The move aims to enhance airline operations and accommodate increasing passenger demand.

The new operational hours are as follows: Prempeh I International Airport in Kumasi will operate from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., while Tamale International Airport will operate from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) has been issued by the GCAA to inform all airlines of the changes.

As the GCAA and GACL stated in their public notice, “The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) have officially announced an extension of operational hours at two of Ghana’s major domestic airports—Prempeh I International Airport (PIA) in Kumasi and Tamale International Airport (TIA).”

Domestic airlines have been advised to increase their frequency of flights to and from the two airports in line with the extended hours.

The general public and all aviation stakeholders are urged to take note of the new operational schedule and adjust their travel plans accordingly.
