Operational hours for Kumasi, Tamale airports extended

The operational hours at the Prempeh I International Airport in Kumasi and the Tamale International Airport have been extended effective 1st June 2025.

The Prempeh I International Airport will now operate until 11 pm, extending from the current 8 pm closing time.

Similarly, the Tamale International Airport will operate until 10 pm, instead of 6 pm.

This was contained in a joint statement by the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL).

The statement explained that the new operational hours are aimed at improving accessibility and convenience for travellers using both airports.

The statement further advised domestic airlines to adjust their schedules accordingly. “Domestic airlines have been advised to increase their frequency to and from both airports.

The general public is encouraged to take note of the changes and plan their travel accordingly.
