Blame US, UK and France for Libya ‘slavery’ crisis – Irbard Ibrahim

A Security and International Relations Expert, Irbard Ibrahim is blaming the USA, UK and France for happenings in Libya in the wake of what appears to be the resurrection of slave trade in Africa.

According to him, the disdain expressed by Libyans towards other Africans escalated following interference in the governance of Libya and the subsequent overthrow and assassination of its hero, Colonel Muammar Gaddafi.

So far, Ghana has been able to repatriate 126 Ghanaians from Libya while Nigeria’s Buhari has hinted he will evacuate all Nigerians from that country.

Speaking to Samuel Eshun on the Gold Power Drive on Thursday, November 30, 2017, Irbard Ibrahim said even though Libyans are noted for their discriminatory stance, during the reign of Muammar Gaddafi, Africans were not sold into slavery.

Irbard Ibrahim insists the Western powers are the direct beneficiaries of the instability in Libya.

“The blame should squarely go unto the US, UK and France for destabilizing Libya. They told the Libyans Libya needed democracy because Gaddafi was a dictator. Libyans are worst of than they were under that purported dictatorship. They told the Libyans they didn’t have liberty, they were bringing them freedom. Libyans are killing each other now while the white folks are siphoning the oil,” he lamented.

He further expressed disappointment in the approach being adopted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration in addressing the matter.
