Prove my illegitimacy or stop bothering me – Gbese Mantse tells Dzamesi

The Office of the Gbese Mantse has challenged the Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Minister, Kofi Dzamesi to back his claim with proof suggesting Nii Ayi Bonte’s illegitimacy to the throne, for which reason his membership to the Regional House of Chiefs is invalid.

According to the office of the Gbese Mantse, there is no existing legal challenge at the moment that threatens Nii Ayi Bonte’s membership and reign, hence the Minister cannot restrain him from holding himself out as a member of the Regional House of Chiefs.

This comes in the wake of a letter from the Ministry that ordered the Gbese Mantse, Nii Ayi Bonte II to stop parading himself as a member of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs.

In an interview with Accra-based Citi FM, Spokesperson for the Gbese Mantse, Nii Ayi Bonte II, Nii Annan Agbo said the Minister erred in his action.

“The Chieftaincy Minister should know, he’s no locus to be saying Nii Ayi Bonte should step aside and not going to the Regional House of Chiefs. Before you go there you pass through a process before you go there. Nii Ayi Bonte did not just get up and go to the Regional House of Chiefs. He says there is a court case pending so we want him to come out with the suit numbers, which court, so we could know that there is a case against him and therefore through that he should hold on and not go to the regional house of Chiefs. he should come out boldly and say it.”
