New Government Statistician Appointed

Government has announced the appointment of Dr. Grace Bediako as the new Government Statistical.

Her deputy is Prof Nicholas N. N. Nsowah-Nuamah.

This was contained in a news release issued by Dr S. Nii Noi Ashong, the Minister of State for Economic Planning.

She takes over from Dr K. A. Twum-Baah.

Prior to her appointment, Dr. Bediako was Chief of the Demographic Statistician Division of the UN, in which capacity she was responsible for planning and executing the World Programme for Population Censuses, and assisting with the development of national capacities in the fields of demographic and social statistics.
