Man in custody for stealing military apparel

Tema, July 22, GNA – The Tema Circuit Court ‘B’ has remanded a 32-year- old man into custody for stealing military apparel. Yaya Kasim, whose plea was not taken, will reappear on August 3, 2004. Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Alice Gyamfi told the court presided over by Mr Stephen Teye, that on July 12, 2004, the accused visited a soldier and succeeded in stealing a military uniform, boots and beret.

A soldier, on the Accra-Tema motorway challenged the accused who was dressed in the military apparel on board a broken down vehicle, for wearing the military beret wrongly.

Chief Inspector Gyamfi said Yaya was arrested and sent to the Michel Military Camp and after interrogations he was handed over to the police.
