Past students of Hohoe E.P Secondary to aid alma mater

Hohoe, July 2, GNA – Past Students of Hohoe Evangelical Presbyterian Secondary School (HEPSSOSA), are mobilizing resources to provide facilities that would improve academic pursuit of their alma mater.

Mr Nat Dzadey, President of the Past Students Association, who made this known to the school authorities, said members were focussed on the need to provide computers; a school bus, furnish the ill- equipped laboratory and fix falling window panes.

The Executive Council of HEPSSOSA presented 10 ceiling fans, valued at three million cedis to the Headmaster, Mr Dodzi Mortey to show their commitment to development of the school.

The Council congratulated Mr Mortey on his assumption of duty as the first past student, to be appointed as Headmaster of the school. Mr Mortey expressed his profound gratitude to his colleagues for the show of solidarity and the confidence reposed in him and promised to live up to expectation.

The Headmaster said the school was in dire need of a means of transport to facilitate the smooth administration of the school. Mr Mortey said the present school vehicle was over 17 years old and breaks down frequently.

He expressed dissatisfaction about inadequate accommodation facilities for the teaching and non-teaching staff, compelling a number of them to relocate outside the school’s campus.

Mr Mortey appealed to the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Education Trust Fund and other stakeholders to help rectify the situation.

He announced measures to instil discipline among the teaching staff and students to help improve on academic work. Mr Simon Fefeti, immediate Past President of HEPSSOSA said the school’s Computer Laboratory would be equipped as part of the second Home Coming Ceremony of the Association, scheduled for November this year.
