The campaign to keep the Accra Metropolis clean, declared by the AMA almost three months ago is not over yet as the Assembly takes further steps to stop the indiscriminate splashing of posters in town.
The Mayor of the AMA, Hon Stanley Adjiri Blankson, has cautioned video and films cassettes distributors to put an end to the increasing proliferation of posters in the city, a situation he said creates lot of filth in most parts of the city.
Posters of cassettes, obituaries, church activities, school programmes, political parties and many others have recently soiled the streets, walls, trees and any available spaces in the national capital.
In most cases, once the posters are splashed by their producers, they are left to the weather and the rain washed them to choke gutters, thereby causing floods in most areas in Accra.
Hon. Blankson was speaking at a meeting with members of the Association of Video and Films cassettes distributors in Accra.
He cautioned that, the Assembly?s taskforce would soon go to town to remove all posters from unauthorized places to let sanity prevail in the city.
He also disclosed that his outfit would build a number of billboards at vantage points in the city which should be the only authorized spaces for them to post their posters.
