Punish arrogant and lawless appointees in government – Wewebi tells Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been counseled to crack the whip on erring appointees who will misbehave in order to give the government of the day a bad name.

A Cape Coast North constituency Treasurer for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Stephen Kojo Arhin knew in politics as Wewebi is urging the president not to relent in dealing with such individuals adding that wives and other relations of such appointees found to have also misconducted themselves should equally not be spared.

This he observed when done, will not bring the party’s name into disrepute indicating that some persons feel because they are in government and that they can misconduct themselves and flout the laws of the country with impunity.

In an exclusive interview with mynewsgh.com at Abura, Mr. Arhin called on the president not to spare any government official who will misuse state funds but rather be bold and expose such persons to redeem the image of the party.

“I am appealing to the president to open his eyes and not to cover up certain things which will bring bad name to him (Nana Addo) but always be transparent and accountable to Ghanaians who have reposed confidence in him and voted for the NPP. He must also respect and listen to NPP grassroots who risk and sacrificed their lives for his victory and never turn his back on them”, he advised.

Mr. Arhin who is vying as Chairman of the party sent a strong warning to the NPP members who had the opportunity to serve in the government and any government institutions to be truthful, transparent and accountable to the public.
