School block roof ripped off

Akwatia (E/R), May 26, GNA – A severe rainstorm which hit Akwatia on Wednesday ripped off the entire roof of the block of six classrooms of the primary section of the Christ Preparatory school. Mr William Darkwa, Chairman of the Parent/Teacher Association of the school told the Ghana News Agency on Wednesday at Akwatia that the roof fell on a nearby house destroying a wall and part of the roof of that house.

He appealed to individuals, the National Disaster Management Organisation, Kwaebibirim District Assembly and non-and governmental organisations to assist the school to re-roof the block to ensure uninterrupted classes.
