Communities asked to co-operate with district assemblies

Tarkwa (W/R), May 24, GNA – Mr Alex Quarm, Assemblyman for Brenuakyim Electoral Area near Tarkwa, has called on the people to co-operate with their district assemblies to execute development projects in their communities.

He made the call when making a personal donation of sand towards the construction of a road linking the Wassa Fiase Traditional Council building and the Naraguta Grammar School at Tarkwa at the weekend. Mr Quarm said people usually get impatient with district assemblies for not undertaking some projects in their areas and explained that, this was because all communities do not receive their share of development projects at the same time.

He said the Wassa West District Assembly has earmarked a number of projects for the electoral area including construction of a new market and re-construction of roads.

Mr Quarm appealed to the youth in the electoral to re-kindle their communal spirit and offer communal labour to support projects and asked elders in the area to contribute financially towards projects.

He commended the Omanhene of Wassa Fiase Traditional Area, Osagyefo Kwamina Enimil VI, who lives in the area for his contribution towards the development of the community.
