PLAYBACK: ‘Newsfile’ on JoyNews

Newsfile on JoyNews today discussed issues that made the news during the week.

Prime in discussion was the unfortunate accident involving the team bus of the Kumasi Asante Kotoko team on the Accra-Kumasi highway. One person is reported dead and the injured are receiving treatment at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. This led the discussion to the topic of the compulsory towing levy passed by the previous parliament but suspended by the current administration because of some irregularities.

Also the Deputy Minister of Trade’s comment at the diaspora fair organised in Accra about diaspora investors being whiners was touched on. His disposition at the time of making the comments and his subsequent apology were analysed.

The show also dissected Sydney Casely-Hayford’s comments against parliament for which reason he was hauled before it for contempt of parliament. Diverse opinion were shared on the matter and perspectives on law were explored.

These and many other stories that made the headlines were discussed by Host Samson Lardy Anyenini and his panelist comprising Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Jnr, Lawyer Yaw Oppong, Deputy NDC General Secretary George Loh and CEO of YEA, Justin Kodua Frimpong
