Ghanaian arrested for drug trafficking

22 May 1998 Mr John Mensah, a 35 year- old Ghanaian barber, has been arrested by the Brazilian authorities for trafficking 2.015 kilograms of cocaine. He was arrested at the Sao Paulo International Airport following a tip off as he was checking in to board a Middle East Airline (MEA) flight for Abidjan. Mensah who holds a Ghanaian Passport number A555264, claimed on arrest that he was a resident of house number 234, Kwame Nkrumah Avenue, Accra. This has been found to be false and he will be prosecuted according to the drug laws of Brazil.
