Church to support Birim South District

Akim Batabi (E/R), April 20, GNA – The Parables World Ministries, a religious organisation with its headquarters in Australia, has initiated measures to tackle youth unemployment, poverty and diseases in the Birim South District.

Consequently, the Church has acquired about two hectares of land at Akim Batabi to build a school, a clinic, community centre and staff bungalows, all estimated at over two billion cedis, to improve the standard of living of the people.

Pastor Frank Essah, Executive Pastor in-charge of the Ghana branch of the Church, said these when he and Mr Seth Gyimah, National Secretary of the Ministries and Mrs Esther Essah, a member of the International Board of Directors, conducted the GNA to inspect the land.

Pastor Essah said proceeds from the clinic and the school would be used to fund viable projects towards poverty alleviate and the development of the area.

He said apart form ensuring the spiritual upliftment of members, the Church would continue to assist in the socio-economic transformation of the area by granting the people, especially women, soft loans to undertake income-generating activities.

Pastor Essah said the Church would train the youth in primary health care so that they could help to improve health delivery in the area. He said the Church would ensure that destitute people were treated free-of-charge when the clinic was established and to provide them with homes.

Mr Gyimah thanked the chiefs and elders of Akim Batabi for releasing the land and gave the assurance that the Church would work assiduously to achieve its objectives.
