Two suspected human traffickers arrested

An exclusive investigation by Rainbow Radio’s Kwabena Agyekum Banahene has led to the arrest of two suspected human traffickers.

The reporter acting upon a tip-off that, the two suspects were recruiting minors to traffic them to Saudi Arabia, to work as domestic house helps, followed through and got them arrested.

He [Banahene] followed up and through his investigations, he traced the suspected traffickers who were masterminding the action.

The process to traffic the victims to Saudi Arabia from what he gathered, started some four months ago.

Speaking to rainbowradioonline.com, Banahene said, ‘’I had a tip-off last 4 months, according to the information, about 6 young girls between the ages of 14-15 were being processed by suspected traffickers to go and work as domestic helps in Saudi Arabia, I followed up and realized it was truth.

I informed the police about it and as I speak, two of them have been arrested by the police.

According to him, the suspects were apprehended at the Kasoa Community hospital [around Blue Top Estate] where they had sent the victims for medicals.

The suspects [names withheld due to ongoing investigations] are the Kasoa Police Command custody. The victims have also been rescued and with the police at the time of filling this report.
