Toase bags 32 million cedis for education

Toase (Ash), April 13, GNA- The people of Toase in the Atwima district of Ashanti on Easter Monday realised 32 million cedis to support education in the area.

The Toase sub-traditional council set the education fund to support brilliant but needy pupils from the area and also for educational infrastructure.

Speaking at the fund-raising ceremony, Mrs Diana Amissah, the Co-ordinator of vocational and Technical Education at the Atwima district education office, called on parents to invest in their children’s education. She told them that the best legacy one could bequeath to his child was good education and asked parents to contribute generously to the fund.

Nana Asiama Poku-Afrifa II, Toasehene, commended the board members for their hard work. He asked parents of beneficiaries of the fund not to leave the burden of educating their children on the fund since it was only supplementary.

Mr Martin Owusu, chairman of the Board of Trustees, appealed to the people to pay their contributions of 10,000 cedis per citizen to enable the fund to get enough money to fulfil its obligation.
