Four water producers asked to stop operation

Kumasi, March.20, GNA – The Food and Drugs Board (FDB) has ordered four water producers in the Kumasi Metropolis to stop further production, packaging and distribution of their products. They are “Century Treated Water, “Supply of Water to Dispensers” from Century Investments Ltd, “Oh, Yes Drinking Water”, and “Moses Drinking Water” by KABASS Stores Enterprise.

This was contained in a release signed by Mr Joseph Bennie, Zonal Officer of the board and issued to the press in Kumasi on Friday. The release said the conditions under and premises from which these products are manufactured have not been approved by the Board, adding that, the products have also not been registered and certified by the Board for sale to the public.

“The Board, therefore cannot guarantee the quality and more so to assure the public of the safety of the said products”, it added. The release urged the general public, especially residents of Kumasi and its surrounding areas to desist from patronage and consumption of the products.

The Board called on all Supermarkets, Shell shops, Mobil marts, banks and other retailers who still have stocks of the products to immediately deposit them with Food and Drugs Board office in Kumasi.
