Driver jailed two years for stealing car tape

Ejisu (Ash), March 10, GNA- A 29-year-old driver at Ejisu, Gado Tahiru was on Tuesday jailed two years by the Ejisu Magistrate’s court for stealing a car tape.

He pleaded guilty to unlawful entry and stealing.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Nkansah Twumasi-Ankrah told the court presided over by Mr Noble Nkrumah, that about 0430 hours on Tuesday, broke into the house of Mr Lot Kwasi Adjei-Kyei, a lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) at Ejisu and removed a car tape from a parked car in the house.

As he stood by the roadside looking for a vehicle to run away with his booty, a police patrol team saw him and when the police searched hims they found the car tape in a polythene bag he was holding. He said the patrol team received a telephone call from Mr Adjei-Kyei about the burglary and Tahiru was arrested.
