Djibril Kanazoe dragged before court for alleged tax evasion

An expatriate employee of Djibril Kanazoe the renowned Burkinabe contractor who gifted Former President John Dramani Mahama a Ford Expedition vehicle in appreciation of a contract, Luigi Martinis has dragged the latter before an Accra Commercial Court 7 over alleged tax evasion.

Luigi Martinis an Italian who was also the Project Manager of the infamous 46-kilometer Dodo Pepeso-Nkwanta Road in the Volta region, reveals he has his contract abrogated in March 2015.

In his bid to withdraw money from his foreign account, in his hometown country, they demanded of him a tax clearance certificate or in default 40% of his earnings will be used for that purpose as penalty.

He subsequently relayed that information to Djibril Kanazoe who was alleged to have rushed to Burkina Faso and returned with some tax clearance certificates which he in turn forwarded to his country.

It later turned out that the receipts were rejected on suspicion they were not genuine leading to Luigi Martinis taking the matter to court in order to compel him pay up the taxes.

The matter is set to be heard on April 27, 2017 after preliminary proceedings in the court presided over by Justice Kyei Baffour.
