UG Vice-Chancellor orders audit into SRC accounts

Accra March 2,GNA – The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana (UG), Legon, has Ordered an audit of the accounts of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the University.

A statement issued by the Public Affairs Directorate of the University, said the order was is in view of the agitation that led to the vote of no confidence in three executive members of the council.

It said following the removal of the three executive members, the Vice-Chancellor had made the necessary arrangements to put in place an interim executive consisting of an SRC Secretary as Interim President, and all Junior Common Room (JCR) Presidents as members, to steer affairs of the SRC until new elections are held.

The statement indicated that the Vice-Chancellor has taken note of the removal of the three officers, following a vote of no confidence passed against them in accordance with the constitution of the SRC.
