Akufo-Addo commissions Osu Castle as museum for Heads of state

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has commissioned the former seat of government, the Christianborg Castle , a museum for past presidents.

The Museum is one of the many “legacy projects” identified by government to mark the Ghana at 60 celebration.

The project when completed will transform the entire Castle into a Exhibition hall that will project all of Ghana’s statesmen, particularly Heads of State.

The Sunday ceremony included a tour of an exhibition of all former Heads of State.

The President in his address before the tour, called on Ghanaians to take full advantage and also tour the Museum and learn from the many historical details that will form part of the facility .

The President was hopeful that the Museum when completed, will offer job opportunities for the youth at Osu and its environs.

Meanwhile, the remains of former president John Evans Atta Mills is buried at the frontal of the castle.
