NDC trains polling agents

Ho, Feb. 24, GNA – The Volta Region branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has started training its party agents towards the national voters registration exercise scheduled for March, this year. Mr. Francis Ganyaglo, Regional Secretary of the Party told the Ghana News Agency in an interview on Tuesday, that a total of 3,930 agents would be trained and equipped with skills to enable them to identify fraud and other irregularities for a clean and credible register.

He said the training exercise, which would last for a week is being undertaken by five groups of trainers, who are currently on the field. Mr Ganyaglo said the training programme was receiving overwhelming patronage from volunteers.

He asserted that the pojection by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to win six to 10 parliamentary seats from the NDC in the region was a defeatist claim NPP kept changing from time to time.

Mr Ganyaglo gave the assurance that the party would maintain its dominant position in the region, including the Akan Constituency seat, which was won by Alhaji Rashid Bawa as an independent candidate in 2000 elections.

“Our firm grip of the region has never made us complacent”, he said.
