GIPC chief executive says Ghanaians are overplaying energy crisis issue.

The chief executive of the Ghana Investment Promotion Council (GIPC), Mr. Kwesi Ahwoi today said that Ghanaians are overplaying the energy issue and being pessimistic about it. Speaking to JOYFM at the 6th Ghana International Trade Fair, which opened in Accra today, Mr. Ahwoi asked for support for the authorities concerned in their bid to find a lasting solution to the problem. He was of the view that with the current energy crisis, investors will by all means think twice before coming to Ghana to invest. On businesses already in existence, Mr. Ahwoi said it would be difficult for them to meet their targets and this would go a long way to undermine economic programmes put in place by government. Mr. Ahwoi said however, that he belies the problem was surmountable and everything was being done by government to find a solution.
