Two stowaways found dead

The bodies of two men believed to be stowaways have been found on a ship berthed at Alexandra Dock in Hull.

Another man was found alive on board the Cecdelta, which was carrying nuts from Takoradi in Ghana. He is helping police with their inquiries.

The bodies were found in the hold of the ship which was flying under the flag of the Isle of Man.

Humberside Police said the three men were not crew members and were believed to be stowaways.

Emergency services had to wait at the scene for more than two hours for safety reasons before recovering the bodies at about 1615 GMT.
