Dr. Richard Amoako Baah Resigns from NPP

Political analyst and academic, Dr. Richard Amoako Baah, has announced his resignation from the New Patriotic Party (NPP), stating categorically that he is no longer a member of the party.

In a recent media interview, monitored by DailyPost.com.gh, “I am no longer a member of the NPP,” expressing disappointment with the party’s current leadership and direction. He accused the party of straying from its founding principles and failing to uphold the democratic values it once championed.

Dr. Amoako Baah, a former Head of the Political Science Department at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has long been known for his outspoken views and critical stance on governance issues. He has been particularly critical of how the NPP managed both internal affairs and national governance leading up to and following the 2024 general elections.

His exit from the party adds to growing concerns within sections of the NPP over internal democracy and accountability, especially after the party’s poor performance in the 2024 polls.
