Fifty NDC members defect to NPP at Kraboa, Anfaso

Coaltar (E/R), Nov. 5, GNA – More than 50 members of National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Kraboa and Anfaso, two communities near Coaltar, in the Suhum- Kraboa-Coaltar District, on Tuesday defected from the party to join the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

This was disclosed to the Ghana News Agency by Mr. Emmanuel Darteh, NPP Chairman for Ayuesuano constituency at Kraboa during a meeting with the chiefs, polling agents, party executives and other party members on how best development project could be carried out in the area. Mr. Darteh advised them to put an end to political differences and come together tackle development projects through communal labour before calling on the government for further assistance.

He said the NPP government was ready to provide them with their needs if they were united in the spirit of self-help.

The defected members of the NDC included Papa Kwaku Botwe (alias Coach), Organiser for Kraboa electoral area who said they are supporting the NPP government that has started developing the area.

Papa Botwe said some of the projects include the construction of KVIP toilet at Kraboa, Hospital at Coaltar and the tarring of a 27-kilometre road from Adoagyiri through Coaltar to Owuram, which is in progress.

The defected organiser said when the road is completed it would help them in carting their foodstuff to the cities for sales.

Nana Gyasehene Obene I Kraboahene who chaired the function commended the NPP government for the development projects especially the mass spraying of cocoa farms that have increased cocoa production.
