Offinso cell breakers jailed 3 years

Two inmates, who were re-arrested after breaking cell at Abofour in Offinso in the Ashanti region, have been jailed three years each by the Offinso Circuit Court.

The two, Kofi Agyare, popularly called Bongo, 34, and Iddrisu Yahaya also known as K2, were among six inmates, who escaped through a hole they created in the cell’s wall using a metal.

They were re-arrested on Wednesday July 20 after they had escaped the night before.

The police have accused the two officers under whose watch the suspects broke cell, of professional negligence and have given them a 10-day ultimatum to produce the remaining four escapees.

Offinso Divisional Police Commander, ACP Edward Oduro told Class News the officers will have themselves to blame if they fail to produce the four.
