Suspended 2nd National Vice Chairman of the NPP, Sammy Crabbe is asking the Appeals Court to set aside a High Court ruling that dismissed his application challenging his suspension from the party.
Mr Crabbe was suspended in December 2015 after the NPP’s Disciplinary Committee said he had disrespected the party structure when he consistently criticized the decision to suspend National Chairman of the party Paul Afoko.
The embattled former National Executive of the NPP went to court claiming the disciplinary committee set up by the NPP to suspend him was unconstitutional, but on June 2, Justice Dennis Adjei who presided over the issue rejected his appeal that the party’s decision should be revoked.
Hours after the ruling, he indicated his intention to exercise his right to appeal the court’s decision. He has since kept his moves secret from the media. But document available to 3news.com proves that Sammy Crabbe is back in court, arguing that the “learned trial judge erred” on a number of grounds.
“The learned trial judge erred in holding that the jurisdiction of the National Disciplinary Committee was properly invoked to hear the Petitions against the applicant,” he said for instance in an application dated June 13, 2016.
He therefore asked the Appellate Court to declare: “That the ruling/decision of the trial court dated dismissing the plaintiff’s application dated the 2nd June, 2016, be set aside and the applicant be granted the reliefs endorsed in his application.”
