Senior citizens honoured with a luncheon

Today July 1 marks Ghana’s 56th Republic Day and has been declared as a statutory holiday. There was a luncheon for senior citizens today July 1 which marks the day Ghana became a republic in Accra.

Apart from been a republic holiday, the government has used the opportunity organise a luncheon in Accra for its senior citizens as a way to honour them for their hard work and contributions toward the nation-building process.

The luncheon was attended by the incumbent President, John Dramani Mahama, who is the Fourth President of the Fourth Republic of Ghana.

Ministers of State, some Queen mothers and Chiefs were also at the event.
