A report by Akua Oteng Amponsah

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that it is working closely with the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) to restore power supply in some areas of the Greater Accra region that were affected by yesterday’s rainstorm.

In a press statement, ECG disclosed that NADMO requested that certain areas be isolated from power supply due to the heavy flooding on Sunday, May 18, 2025.

The affected areas include Borteyman Stadium, Affordable Housing, Borteyman Township, Little Roses, Lakeside, Nanakrom, Kissieman, Dome Pillar 2, Christian Village, School Junction, School Junction Melcom, Nmaidzor Zoomlion, University Farms, Trasacco 3rd gate, Legon Hill, Santoe, Blue Kiosk, Adenta ECG office, and Madina Islamic University.

“ECG is collaborating with the NADMO team for their directives before power supply is restored” the statement reads.

ECG is also calling on individuals to report localized outages and incidents of fallen poles or sagging conductors in their vicinities to the ECG Call Center, the nearest ECG office, or through their social media handles for prompt intervention.
