Four killed in Assin Fosu road crash

Four persons have been confirmed dead in a gory accident at Assin Atobiase near Assin Fosu in the Central region.

The crash occurred between a Ford bus with registration number AW 5694-12 and a diesel truck registered GN 5423-15.

The Ford was traveling from Accra to Assin Fosu while the truck, carrying beans, was heading to Accra from Assin.

Twelve other passengers in the Ford vehicle sustained various degrees of injuries while the driver of the truck suffered a major cut on his arms.

The injured are currently receiving treatment at the St. Francis Xavier Hospital at Assin Fosu while the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Abura Dunkwa Government Hospital morgue.

The incident occurred Thursday night.

A survivor told Starr News the driver of the Ford was attempting to swerve a pothole when the vehicle got out of control resulting in the head-on collusion.

Meanwhile, police at Assin Fosu are warning commuters plying the Assin road to drive with caution as there are a lot of potholes on the road.
