Mahama inaugurates Ghana’s 1st Private Med. Sch.

President John Mahama on Tuesday inaugurated the country’s first Private Medical School in Accra.

The Family Health Medical School is affiliated to the University of Ghana, Legon.

The ceremony was unique as it was graced by former Presidents Jerry John Rawlings and John Agyekum Kufuor.

The school also opened with its inaugural matriculation with the first batch of 16 students to be trained.

The school will also provide update course for foreign trained doctors who would want to practice in Ghana.

President Mahama at the ceremony said government recognises the private sector participation in tertiary education, as it falls under the government transformational agenda.
