Photos: Fire destroys 17 cars at Suame

About 17 vehicles and more than 10 containers have been burnt in a fire outbreak at a section of Suame Magazine known as Club 600. The incident happened on Saturday February 6.

Class FM’s Ashanti regional correspondent Hafiz Tijani spoke with 44-year-old Mohammed Musah, the burnt mechanic shop’s security man, who said the fire started at about 4:30am after a young man from a nearby house disposed of refuse and set fire to it, which spread to the garage.

Car engines and other spare parts running into millions of Ghana cedis have been lost to the blaze.

Police and fire officers from Suame are currently interrogating both the security men and the young man, who allegedly set fire to the refuse.
