Truck runs into wedding guests killing four

Four persons have been confirmed dead after a Sachet Water Distribution truck with registration number WR 2039-10 ran into a crowd that had gathered at a wedding reception on Sunday afternoon at Upper Dixcove, a fishing community in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region

The bodies of the deceased, all females, including a 38-year-old pregnant woman, Bombo, and a 17-year-old student, Priscilla, have been deposited at the Nana Hima Dekyi Hospital in Dixcove

About ten persons including the driver’s mate who suffered varying degrees of injuries are also responding to treatment at the same Hospital.

It is believed that the truck might have failed its brakes.

The Driver of the Truck whose name has been given by his Employer as David is still on the run with one other assistant

The Bride, who collapsed out of shock, has since been revived while the Whole community of Dixcove is still in state of utter shock

The District Chief Executive for the district, Joseph Dofoyena and other political stalwarts have visited the community to commiserate with the families of the victims.
