Nduom dares Mahama to sack Power Minister

Founder of the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP) has urged President John Dramani Mahama to immediately sack the Minister of Power, Kwabena Donkor.

“The President should sack him to show that he is in charge,” he said.

Dr. Kwabena Donkor promised to bring the ever-worsening power crisis to an end by the end of 2015.

However, some energy experts are pessimistic since the energy crisis keeps deteriorating.

Even though Dr. Donkor has promised to resign if the power situation does not get better, Dr. Nduom says there is no need for the President to wait for the Energy Minister to resign; ‘he should be sacked’.

According to him, he (Mahama) should have sacked him (Donkor) three months ago because all his suggestions and advice to bring the power crisis to an end are not working.

“He is not in a good position to advise the president on energy, and he is obviously not in charge of the energy situation and so the President should sack him to show that he is in charge… he should have sacked the minister of power three months ago,” he told Abeiku Santana on Okay FM’s Ekwanso Dwodwoo programme on Wednesday.
