Three remanded over Asawase killing

An Asokwa District Magistrates Court has remanded into prison custody three of the seven suspects standing trial for the murder of a member of the New Patriotic Party in the Asawase Constituency of the Ashanti region.

The Court presided over by His Worship Mr. Korkor Achaw Owusu remanded Youth Organiser Issah Usman, Women’s Organiser Hajia Wasila Gariba; both executives of the Party, and Alhassan Issah, a Party member.

The case has since been adjourned to November, 24, 2015.

Sadiq Abubakar Mohammed, a 37-year-old party member was stabbed to death last Friday by unknown assailants at the Asawase constituency office of the party, for allegedly threatening to beat up the Constituency Chairman who is believed to have made unpleasant comments about the flagbearer of the party, Nana Akuffo-Addo.

According to reports gathered the Constituency Chairman, Isaac Brenya, who was also arrested to assist in investigations, did not appear in court.
