Sekyere West spends five billion cedis on education

Adidwan (Ash), Aug 1, GNA – Mr Thomas Edward Atakorah, Sekyere West District Chief Executive, last Thursday unveiled a plaque to inaugurate a three-unit classroom block built for Adidwan Presbyterian Primary School.

The classroom block, which was constructed at a cost of 166 million cedis, has a library, an office and a staff common room. Royal Netherlands Embassy and Ravigulta of Global Routes, based in the United States, non-governmental organisation, contributed 75 million cedis and 65 million cedis, respectively, while Assembly bore the remaining cost of 36 million cedis.

Mr Atakorah said the Assembly had spent five billion cedis on education infrastructure in the District.

Mr Martin Owusu-Mensah, District Director of Education, commended the US and the Netherlands governments for their sensitivity to the plight of Ghanaians, especially, those living in the rural areas.
