New Christ Apostolic Church chairman takes office

Accra, July 25, GNA – The Reverend Michael Nimo on Friday took over as chairman of Christ Apostolic Church International (CACI). He took over from Apostle Dr Augustine Annor-Yeboah, whom he defeated at the polls a couple of weeks ago.

The Reverend Ekow Badu-Woode, General Secretary of the Ghana Pentecostal Council, performed the handing-over ceremony. Rev Nimo called for unity in the Church and said the focus of the new executives would be to see to the welfare of the members and workers to ensure its the expansion.

Apostle Annor-Yeboah said everything that has a beginning has an end and the glory goes to God.

Rev. Badu-Woode said under-development in Africa was as a result of each leader wanting to have a new beginning.

“The problem in Africa is that we are always beginning new projects, new ideologies, new churches, new foundations. We never take the time to build upon other people’s achievement, to develop it to reach our goal,” he said.

“If you examine the various stages of our development, we are still beginning the beginning. When shall we learn to acknowledge and appreciate the works of our predecessors?”

Rev Badu-Woode said underdevelopment was as a result multiple beginnings and failures to sustain and maintain any other projects “because they did not originate from my party, from my camp”.

He said: “Every leader, however, great the Lord makes you to become, must not lose the heart of a servant. The attitude should be that of service to the Lord and his people.”

Rev. Badu-Woode said over 40 new Pentecostal and charismatic churches had applied for membership of the GPC.
