DCE presents items to CHPS compound

Mr. Adamu Dasaana, the Wa West District Chief Executive (DCE), has presented some items to the Wechiau District Health Directorate for onward distribution to the Community-Based Health Planning Services (CHPS) compounds.

The items which included 20 double bed and mattresses, 20 writing tables and chairs, 60 benches and six gas cylinders and burners, were procured from the coffers of the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) at the cost of GH¢47,578.50.

He also presented two motor bikes, a desktop computer, and two street light bulbs, to the Wa West District Police Command to help maintain peace and security in the district.

Mr. Dasaana urged health workers to let the gesture be a source of motivation for them, to put in their best to ensure adequate quality health delivery in the communities.

Receiving the items on behalf of the District Health Director, Alhaji Isaka Hassan thanked the DCE and the Assembly for showing strong commitment to addressing the numerous health challenges in the district.

Alhaji Hassan said the items would go a long way to promote health delivery at the beneficiary CHPS compounds.

In another development, the DCE presented 50 school uniforms, five street light bulbs and three waste bins to the Tomayiri/Konglolimo Kindergarten School, to help promote teaching and learning.

Madam Muawists Mahamood, the Headmistress of the school, expressed her gratitude to the DCE for the kind gesture.

She said the absence of the Ghana School Feeding Pregramme (GSFP) was hindering the school enrolment figures, and appealed to the DCE to enroll the school on feeding programme to motivate the pupils.

The Headmistress also appealed for a primary school block to enable the pupils to continue when they graduate from the KG instead of walking long distances to access primary education in other communities.
