Chinese President extends condolences to Ghana

Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a message of condolence to President John Dramani Mahama and the families of the victims of the twin flood and fire tragedy that hit Ghana on June 3.

A statement issued by the Chinese Embassy, in Accra, and copied to the Ghana News Agency, on Wednesday, quoted President Xi as saying that, “I was shocked and regretted at the huge casualties caused by the explosion of a fuel station in Accra”.

“On behalf of the Chinese Government and people, as well as in my own name, I would like to extend deep condolence to the victims, and sincere sympathy to the injured and the bereaved families.”
