Hospital allows ‘security man’ to perform surgery on patient

A tutor of Fountain Head Christian School at Sakumono, Tema, is threatening legal action against the Sakumono Community Hospital after it emerged that a man who was asked to stitch the injured hand of his wife, is not a medical staff but a security man.

Mr. Stephen Kyei Antwi told ATINKA NEWS that he rushed his wife to the facility after she sustained a cut on her arm but the nurse who first attended to them later handed the patient over to a man to stitch the wound after treating it.

However, days later, they noticed the wound was going bad and when they reported back to the facility, it was detected that the person who stitched it did a poor job and further investigations by the hospital management revealed the guy is not a nurse.

Management of the hospital is tight lipped on the matter.
