Tigo donates to Weija Leprosarium

Tigo Ghana, the telecom operator, as part of its corporate social responsibility, has donated food items and beverages to the Weija Leprosarium in Accra.

The items donated included bags of rice, sugar, soft drinks, milo, toiletries, chocolate, and cooking oil.

Mrs Deborah Tayo Akakpo, Corporate and Social Responsibility Manager at Tigo, said it was high time people stopped neglecting those affected with leprosy in society.

She said Tigo Ghana was using the donation as part of a campaign to extend love to the needy and less-privileged in society.

Mr George Quansah, Caretaker of Weija Leprosarium, received the donation on behalf of the inmates, and thanked Tigo for the kind gesture, and its quest to support the less-privileged in society.

Mr Quansah gave the assurance that the items would be shared to the inmates, and made a passionate appeal to other philanthropists to come to their aid.
