Farmer kills wife, commits suicide

It was horrific at Benua Nkwanta, a farming community in the Sunyani Municipality last Sunday, when a 70-year old farmer shot his wife, wounded his seven-year old boy and committed suicide.

The bodies of deceased, Yeboah and Faustina Maibo 22, had since been deposited at the Regional Hospital mortuary in Sunyani, while the boy is in a critical condition, responding to treatment at the hospital.

An eyewitness told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Benua-Nkwanta on Monday, that the incident occurred after a quarrel ensued between the couple.

The GNA gathered that Yeboah, suspected his wife of infidelity before the incident happened.

Alhaji Maama Arhin, the Brong-Ahafo Regional Crime Officer confirmed the story and said the police had started investigation.
